16th University Wushu Games CANCELLED due to COVID-19

With the exponential growth of new COVID cases from the Delta variant and the ongoing public health emergency in the county, it is with deep sadness that we announce the cancellation of this year’s University Wushu Games (UWG), scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 4th, 2021.

We know that this will come as an enormous disappointment, not only to our competitors, but also our parents, coaches, and spectators. However, we hope you can understand the steps we’re taking in the interests of our staff and attendees' health. We hope to host another great UWG again, once we and the health experts at the University of Maryland deem it is safe.

In the meantime, we urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols set forth by local and state health officials, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in 2022! Jiayou!

General Information

The 16th Annual University Wushu Games (UWG) will be held on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at the University of Maryland, College Park. UWG is a unique opportunity for east coast schools in the area and other collegiate wushu clubs to come together and strengthen the Wushu/Chinese Kung Fu community. This event is open all ages, and it is our hope to continue providing this opportunity for years to come.

The University of Maryland Recreation & Wellness center provides this guide for visiting athletes. It includes maps, directions, contact information, and a listing of local athletic facilites, restaurants, and hospitals.

Competition Rules

With the exceptions enumerated in the UWG Rules, the 16th Annual University Wushu Games will comply with the competition rules and judging guidelines established by the 2005 International Wushu Federation (IWuF) rules and bylaws for International Taolu and Nandu events.
